upcoming public events

Brenda Peacock with A Haunting We Will Go is hosting an investigation on April 19th.  Look for them on Meetup to book your spot.  That is Easter weekend and should be very interesting!

The last 5th Saturday meetup was on a Friday.  :)    Someone booked the Saturday before Linda realized it was a 5th Saturday, so…..  A Friday Meetup, it was.  It was a great turnout and an excellent investigation.

null reserve your spot here RSVP There are several public events being planned before summer with at least one Gallery Reading.  Keep an eye on the Calendar for details.DSC_0063

A Haunting We Will Go is having a public investigation in April.  Look for Brenda on Facebook or A Haunting We Will Go on Meetup for more details.

There was a Friends of Hill House Manor Meetup on the Saturday following Thanksgiving (5th Saturday meetup)   Details at the Meetup site  All other scheduled events between now and New Year’s  are private.   Hope you caught us on HGTV’s  America’s Spookiest Homes!

The Gallery Reading with Mary Barrett was a fantastic event. Mary did some hypnosis and past life regressions in addition to the anticipated “messages from beyond” which were also spot on for a lot of people.

The investigation afterwards was also revealing as Trinity Paranormal’s Tiffany and Jennifer gathered some interesting info from someone named “Jeff” during an EVP session.

So it seems a good time was had by all.  We will definitely do it again!

the meetup was great!

We had a lot of newbies and they seemed to really enjoy the evening.  Roger and Marybell Denton stepped up and showed them the ropes with their gear (EMF detectors and more).  One of the newbies has already emailed Linda that at one point when she was standing on the storage side she felt a 3 or 4 year old child take hold of her hand and just seemed to stand there holding her hand for a while.  That’s my favorite kind of story!

We have a Meetup coming up.  Sign up here.  Saturday, June 29th

There have been investigations every weekend for months.  The evidence is piling up.  There have also been a lot of weeknight investigations and even a couple of daytime investigations  (my personal favorite).  If you haven’t been lately, get yourself up here!!!!

Coming SOON: Already Happened. March 8th,2013  can’t wait for next time!   Brian Harnois is holding a public investigation and event at HILL HOUSE MANOR!!!!!!  So EXCITED!!!!  Here’s the link for event and ticket info.

The activity at Hill House Manor has been increasing steadily for almost a year. Come check it out at one of the many open investigations scheduled in the coming months. check the calendar for details.

In Texas the Halloween season is as long as the Christmas season and it has begun.   There are macabre decorations everywhere.  This is the time of year when we are contacted by people who are looking for a Halloween experience and they are often surprised that we are not open on Halloween.  But that is our tradition and we won’t be changing it.  This house is real.  What happens here is real.  That’s a different kind of scary.  It’s almost a boring scary. Until it happens. Then it will change you.  Can you handle it?  Bwaahaahaa!!!!!    Boo!

Update 9-18-12–  Had to go over to Hill House Manor this afternoon for something. First thing I notice is that the door to the storage side is open. We NEVER leave it open. I walked back to the kitchen and felt like not only was I not alone, there were several others there. I heard several sounds that were unfamiliar and unsettling. Grabbed what I came for and left in a hurry.

and no sign of the cat today.  The cat usually only shows up when there’s an investigation or when I’m working on a rent house in the neighborhood.  But she showed up last week for no apparent reason.  Now she’s gone again.  I know she’s real because lots of other people have seen her.

There are so many events happening at Hill House that we’re going to be adding an events page.  We’ve added a page with local hotels and will be adding to it as we check them out.

What do  Hill House Manor and My Ghost Story  have in common?

Ready to read a copy of Linda’s book?  Hill House Manor: The Guest Book is now available online.  Order one today and bring your copy with you to get it signed or pick one up at the house when you investigate.

Blue Moon Update 8-31-12:  Walking through the house (Hill House Manor) this morning (noon-ish) doing the usual “day after a hunt”  walk through,  I heard people talking and thought maybe someone had stayed a little long.  Walked through the whole house.  There was no one there, but there was a feeling that I can only describe as ominous. and I kept hearing garbled conversation like a party or meeting a few rooms away.  strange….  Wonder what got stirred up during last night’s Blue Moon?  with Brenda Jordan Peacock and A Haunting We Will Go?

a spooky evening    Saturday      April 28th     Hill House Manor We acquired this house along with several others in May of 2004.  We have named it Hill House Manor because we have no idea who built it or owned it over the years so we chose to use the last name of  the current owners.   The house was a triplex when we bought it.  Two of the units were livable, one was and continues to be used for storage.  For over 3 years we rented out the units on a 12 month lease basis.  Not one tenant stayed for the full 12 months.  The downstairs unit has not had a tenant stay for 6 months.  The upstairs unit  has not had a tenant stay 2 months.  We became suspicious…….   Several Ghosthunter Teams have confirmed that this house is extremely paranormally active.  Some would call this an understatement We have made the house available to Ghosthunting Teams.   For a small donation your team can have the run of the house for a day, evening, night , weekend or longer.  Not a member of a team, but want to be in a “real” ghost hunt with professional equipment?   We also offer overnight ghost hunts guided by our resident investigators.  All requested donations are used to offset the cost of maintenance, hot and cold running water, electricity and even WIFI and to provide equipment and upgrades to the facility. Hill House Manor was built in the mid to late 1800s.  We don’t know exactly when. Our research is ongoing.  Any info you have would be appreciated. It is rumored that this was a “SpeakEasy” during Prohibition and we have reason to believe this is true. Check back often as we add more info, videos, evps and personal accounts of paranormal activity.  Also take a look at the forum.  Ask a question, share an experience.  Have you ever lived in the house?  Did anything happen while you were there?  Write it up and send it to Linda.  She’d love to share it here.

It has only had a “name” for a few years. You probably know the house. Especially if you went to school at the old middle school. We just try to keep a low profile in the neighborhood. :)

Hi, I was wanting to go to your Hill House Manor tour and my friend sent me some information on this and it stated that you wanted people to attend meetings and research. So here’s the deal, I am in a position where I hardley get any free time cause I am unable to leave my son with anoyone other than one person in my family cause of his condition. So I get free time with way advance notice and meetings and all that extra stuff would not be feasible. If that’s not ok I understand but it doesn’t hurt to ask. I would love to join you all in this hunt as this would be my first and I am totally excited about this (as Im sitting here watching ghost hunters, lol). Please advise. Thank you! Also a response to my email would be great but I can always come back and check this often. Thank you again.

      Hi,
Tours are by reservation and at this point in time require a certain number of people to put one on. That may change in the future. But, for now it has to be a group of people. You don’t have to get involved in the research team to have a tour or a full blown hunt. There are teams that will (for a fee) let you participate in an investigation. Here are a few: Brenda has A Haunting We Will Go. You can find them at http://www.Meetup.com there also is a link to them on the Teams page.
Kevin’s Ft Worth Paranormal has open invitational hunts about once a month. They are also linked to on the Teams page.
Tommy D has a radio show that hosts group hunts and training at HHM. If there are more, I hope they’ll see this and add their names.
Hope that answers all your questions. Hope to meet you at HHM one of these days.
      Linda

I went to school with a kid that was murdered in the eighties. I was either in Edison Elementary or GMS at the time and he was within a year of my class. I don’t remember his name but I remember what he looked like. His father lost his job and killed him and other member (s) of his family after school one day. I tried to google but found NOTHING! Hope this helps.

The name of that boy was Kevin W***n. It was his mother. Not the father. She killed him and his sister then herself in a house on Tay*** St. That was 87. He was my best friend. Thanks.

*Linda’s note: I have hidden the name and the street name for privacy reasons. We have checked this story and found a newspaper article from the Bonham/Paris paper. VERY sad story. Thank you for sharing the facts, Ronnie.

I lived in this house for a very short time in 2005 I believe it was. Me and my now husband lived here, and i spent a great deal of time alone in the house, i lived in the top apartment! I just found out about the paranormal activity in the house. It all makes sense now. I never went into the living room, or the room with all the windows and the stairs. It just freaked me out! I never was really scared in this house, but I did have an eerie feeling alot. One time, we were using the closet in the bedroom, and my husband had went through it looking for something and left it a mess. When I went to open it and straighten it up, it was all neat and clean. No joke! Also, me and my husband had been together for seven years, and after giving up hope of having a baby, I finally became pregnant in this house. We moved shortly after. I do not believe the spirits are evil in this house, but they are very real. Wow! I am doing research now and finding so much! And the bathroom is still that turquoise color with the old bathtub, i loved that tub! LOL

    Linda,

My name is Christi and I wanted to check with you to see what the possibility would be for us to bring a group of kids -age 15-20 to do an investigation or tour?– There would be adults to supervise.
We are from The Parker House – haunted attraction in Denton, TX. We are trying to have ongoing activities for the crew so that we can have fun together during the off season. I am putting together some of the activities and we would like to come visit at some point soon. Please contact me with details – charges and dates etc. We would love to come visit.

We’d need to look at how old the kids are. and look at what’s available on the calendar. I will email you so we can firm up details. We try to have kids events during late afternoon so that they get to experience at least an hour of darkness, but not too late or too much. That part will depend on the agegroup.

  25. June 24, 2012 at 12:53 pm

    Hi Linda,
I was with the Gilbert bday party group this weekend and wanted to share my experience :) . I wouldn’t have ever referred to myself as either a “skeptic” or a “believer”… I’ve always been more of a “let the dead rest in peace”, or “if it is then it is. Let it be, I don’t want to mess with it!” kind of person. So, when i agreed to go ahead and stay at HHM (I, of course, had to be thoroughly bribed!), I was completely scared out of my mind and expected to be admitted to a facility afterwards. But i mustered up some courage and and went for it. The tour was totally creepy and the stories freaky but extremly interesting. Nothing in that house was staged or set up and the decor in each unit was genuinely and certifiably OLD but awesome! I became more open-minded, calm and actually felt that we were actually not alone. The dowsing rods, which turned out to be my absolute favorite, further confirmed that something was going on. My creeped fase began fade and I actually felt at peace. All in all, my experience went from unnerving to interesting and I left actually wanting another chance to visit! Thank you for that opportunity! Who would have known that I would survive or enjoy a haunting!?!…besides the spirits ;-)

    June 25, 2012 at 12:32 am

Lauren is right, I had to do some fast talking and bribing to get her to go. I was very nervous at times. I felt something touch my shoulder and someone thumped me on the back a few times. I have a few pictures that I strongly believe there is really something there. Around 6AM, we decided to start gathering our things and my son and I went to the upstairs air conditioned room to make sure we weren’t forgetting anything. We walked the long way through the bathroom, then the kitchen. I shut the door behind me when we entered the bedroom. When we tried to open the doors, neither one would budge. We had to bang and yell to get the others to hear us. And the TV downstairs would not flip to the camera set up in there so no one could see us. And do you remember during the tour when none of us could get the closet door open and you told us if it didn’t open now, it probably would not open later. Well, when my husband and our friend Braylon finally arrived, we gave them the tour you gave us. Before we could say anything, Braylon reached for the doorknob to open that closet, we all tried to tell him don’t bother, but he opened it with no effort at all. I can say I am no longer a skeptic. I would love to come back without all the kids. I think our experience will be intensified without all the excess energy. Hope to see you again very soon.

There is just so much to research there. I look forward to meeting you. What’s your team’s name? I’ll look for your name on the reservations list.

    Hey Linda!
I love the new site, it’s been a few years since I’ve been to HHM. But, I have a group that’s interested in coming, just trying to find out when everyone can do it. Are the pics of the little girl in the bathroom no longer here on the site? That was one of my favorite ones and I have an evp of a little girls voice saying “hi” when I stood in the door jam between the fireplace room and bathroom upstairs. I hope to see y’all soon!

    Sincerely,
    Janet

Our team loves HHM. There’s a new experience every time! The latest trip we heard a man respond, with our own ears (even our skeptic heard it and we caught on the DVR) and then heard someone try to run up the stairs behind us. It was awesome! If you’re looking for evidence of the afterlife…you will find it at HHM! We always look forward to our next trip…we will return again soon!
