So...... I took the grandsons with me to HHM today. We left Hickory Creek around 9 or 9:30 this morning. Del had been playing music until 2 AM and didn't get home until 3 AM which meant he needed to sleep in and since I needed to put down some tile in the dining room and kitchen of one of the rent houses 2 doors down from HHM, I thought it would be perfect to kill several birds with one stone by getting the boys out of the house so Del could sleep and they could "help" me by passing me tiles and keeping each other busy. One of the boys is 6 and the other is almost 4. They get along pretty well for cousins who only see each other once a year, but they ARE boys and they do like to stake their claim on things..... like toys and chairs and people and crayons etc. It promised to be an interesting day.

Anyway.... I turned on the window unit at HHM as soon as we arrived and turned on the TV to a kid's station and left them there while I went to the rent house to get things set up. There is no electricity on in this house right now and the temp today reached 105 here. Not the best day to put down floors, but I was on a mission! We did run an extension cord to the house from HHM and set up a portable AC unit that we keep for these situations. It didn't cool down the house, but it knocked it down to the 80's anyway.

The boys lasted about 20 minutes in Hill House and decided they would rather be with me in a hot, dirty old house with no AC, no electricity, no TV than stay in Hill House. Neither one of them knows what Hill House Manor is. They both think it's just a neat old house that Papa an GG go to sometimes on the weekends.

Needless to say, the floor tiles took a lot longer with my two little helpers, but Del (aka Papa) showed up around noon, took us all to an air conditioned lunch place with a kids indoor playground (Arby's, she whispered under her breath) then took care of a little business and took the boys back to Hickory Creek with him so that I could finish my project. They left around 3.

I finished up about an hour later and was putting everything back in HHM then sat down in front of the AC in the surveillance room when I heard the boys arguing over some toy or book or something.
"Wait a minute.... they left with Del over an hour ago." "Must be some neighborhood kids" I thought.

I stood and looked out the side window. No kids. Went to the front of the house. No kids. Heard a knock at the front door. "Ah... It must be the next door neighbors. They have 3 little girls who stay there a lot."

No, It was the old man from next door.

"Where are the kids?" I asked. "Not here today. I wanted to talk to Del." he replied.

So... I KNOW I heard kids talking. Sweet little voices in the next room.... But there were no physical universe kids anywhere near the house, nor in it. Did I have a paranormal experience?

You know.... I'll take the personal experience over pictures any day of the week!

Broad daylight, too. 88|

This afternoon was devoted to cleaning up the storage side. phew!!!!!! Had to wear a mask it was so dusty over there. Found a few places where the wind was getting in and sealed them (for the most part). Got rid of a lot of debris that has accumulated over the winter and swept at the dust for a bit. :)

If I get a second wind I might run over it with a mop. Take THAT, Dorbs! ha ha ha. It's hard to cut down on the dust in this old place. Anybody interested in a cleanup day at Hill House Manor? followed by a ghost hunt that night, of course.

Brenda was here with her group "A Haunting We Will Go" last night. I've only heard from one member so far, but she said it was and amazing night. So, I look forward to hearing more from them. Apparently someone had a thermal imager and got some great results during a healing session. Hope they will write it up for us.

Tonight's hunt starts at 7 and I look forward to seeing if my efforts this afternoon have stirred up more than dust. ;)

more later.....

We had about 4 inches of snow Saturday at Hill House Manor! On the first day of SPRING! Now there are thunderstorms.

Anyway..... Saturday's hunt was cancelled due to weather, but they have rescheduled for this Friday night. It's Brenda's group called "A Haunting We Will Go". They are on Meetup ( www.meetup.com )if you're interested and they come to HHM about once a month. They always get some interesting EVP's so we look forward to hearing their stories.

HHM had a meetup a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time in a long time that we had mostly "newbies". They weren't all new to the paranormal, jut new to Hill House Manor. It was great and everyone seemed to have some type of experience, although a small group slipped out early to experience the "activity" at the casino. :)

You can join us by joining our meetup group http://ghosts.meetup.com/819/ . We always have a good time and usually have at least a few experiences to talk about as well as EVP's. The next one is on Friday April the 16th.

There is a private hunt scheduled this Saturday. Some of the group have been here before and some haven't, so that will be interesting.

There's just been so much going on it's hard to keep up with everyone!!!!!

Come for a visit as soon as you can.

Is that you?

That is the EVP that the team from Alvaredo recorded Saturday night at Hill House Manor. It is so clear you think it's just one of the team members.

Wes was reviewing the recording right after it was done. It was soon enough that everyone remembered the conversation. There were only 6 people in the team. 2 women, 4 men. The EVP is a woman and definitely NOT one of the women in the house. This is one of the clearest EVP's you;ll ever hear. Can't wait for Wes to get a copy of it to us!

Friday night was a VERY small group of HHM members. Haven't heard yet what they got, but will post when we do.
That's it for now!

There is no doubt this is my favorite time of year at Hill House Manor. The summer heat has finally yielded to pleasant evenings and the rockers on the front porch get a lot more use this season.

As is our tradition we will be "closed" to corporeal beings on the night of Halloween. Too many people expect us to be one of the Halloween scare houses that night. In fact the month of October tends to be a little slow as people enjoy the Halloween festivities offered up and down I-35. Our non corporeal residents are pretty patient, though. And if you do choose to spend an evening with us in October you will not be disappointed. As long as you're looking for pristine EVPs and not the Texas Cainsaw Massacre. ;D

There have been a lot of Spirit Rescuers here over the summer and you would think that the house would be less active because of all their hard work. In fact, the opposite is true. It has become almost standard to get EVP's during the tour and on into the night.

The "ladies of the evening" are still flirting with one or two men in each group, trying to stir up business, no doubt. No one has yet come up with a way to pay them for services, so as of this writing, I haven't heard of any actual completed ghostly transactions of the cat house variety. But, you never know...... 88|

There is apparently a new non corporeal who has turned the rescues into a game in which he is the goalie. That's not a typo. Think Hockey. He seems to try to stand in the way of the beings who have come to the house for help. He is said to be showing up in several haunted locations and is not restricted to Hill House Manner. He is certainly making it more challenging for the Spirit Rescuers!

This Friday is our first Start late Stay Late meetup. We won't even open up until 10:30, but will stay until 4 AM. Then Saturday we have a group coming in from Alvaredo.

We've also been contacted by Todd Sheets of NightWatch radio who is talking about doing an investigation and broadcast in the Spring.

Lots of activity. See you soon.

  • Summer Haunts
Just realized how long it's been since I blogged. This summer has been booked pretty solid at HHM. It's been a lot of fun and there's been a lot of activity. Some nights more than others, but always something. There have been quite a few videos adde…
  • Who's in the storage room?
Anyway... I asked who was on the storage side. NO ONE. I said, "No really, someone is over there with a flashlight." We're all here. "No, Someone is missing." Oh, Mom just went out to the car. I said "She must have gone over to the storage side." No, she didn't. We continued to watch this ball of light move around. I decided to see where "Mom" was. She was on the front porch.
  • So many stories........
As for Paranormal activity.... It seems to increase every week. The more people come to investigate, the more spirits show up to check us out. It's really win, win.Still nothing extremely hostile. Ronnie was pushed over in the upstairs kitchen one night and several people have reported being "shoved". Not maliciously, just "get out of my way" kind of shoves. Guess it's getting pretty crowded. :))
  • Tweet, Tweet
4-15-09 twittering my life away Yes, I'm now on Twitter. But, that's not really why I haven't blogged. It's just been really hectic around here. My mother came for a visit. It was fun and got me to go to the casino which I haven't done for yea…
  • Kids, Hookers and the occasional prankster
Ronnie had borrowed a digital camera for the event and was still learning how to use it, but he got some pictures of a black mist in the upstairs kitchen which is not unusual in that room and then he's pretty sure he got at least on and maybe 2 pics of faces. I haven't seen them yet, but when I do, I'll try to post them here on the website. By the way he is looking for a group in the Sherman area to join up with. If you're in that area and would like to add a member, hit me up for his #.
  • Austin Ghost Hunters
Del and I were talking about it on the drive back Sunday and decided the ghosts must have all been in Ireland celebrating St Patty's Day!!!:>> :>> :>>That's all I've got right now. This coming weekend is the Friends of Hill House Manor Meetup group on Friday and DYST on Saturday night. Should be live broadcasts both nights on both cameras. See ya' there!!
  • a month?
We actually were able to broadcast from 2 cameras in 2 locations in the house last Saturday night. There were very few technical difficulties and we had about 200 people stop in to watch over the course of the evening. One of our guests enjoyed playing internet host and we were able to fill a few requests for things to try with different trigger devices. There was a lot of activity even though the party was not a ghosthunting team and had no real ghosthunting equipment.
  • Learning the ropes on Friday the 13th
They brought a lot of equipment that I don't know the names of or how they're used, but they obviously do and they spent the night putting them to very good use. They also were broadcasting live, so I guess we were doing a bit of "simulcasting". It was a little rough at times, but we got it all sorted out and many of our online participants were watching both broadcasts and chatting in both chatrooms.
  • Does this mean we've "arrived"?
Last night (02-07-09) we hosted an investigation by Paranormal Source Inc. Now they are a pretty well established team. Their co-founder April Slaughter is an author and a staff writer for TAPS. Correct me if I'm wrong April. She is writing a book f…
  • So much to tell!
If that isn't bizarre enough... Here's the part that Sierra doesn't know.. That blanket was a gift to my late husband when he was in Chemo and radiation therapy for the cancer that ultimately killed him. Is he one of the guardians at Hill House Manor? You decide....
  • Live Broadcasting is AWESOME!
They started by setting up equipment and then they set up a little sand "play area" with 3 small rubber balls in it. Then they went to dinner. By the time they got back the balls had already been moved and had traces of the marking powder all over them. The rest of the night was just as active. Hopefully this weekend will be just as good.
  • Can you say "Freeze Warning"?
The floor was flooded and the toilet was overflowing at an alarming rate. The tour didn't start until after 9:30 so it was pitch dark and COLD. In the end we had to turn off the water to the house for the night.
  • Friday Jan 9th 2009 Great hunt!!!!
As usual the fun began during the tour. Several people were touched and some people were hearing "voices" like EVPs but without the equipment. The house was full of skeptics, but everyone enjoyed spending time trying to recreate phenomenon and disprove "evidence". It was fascinating to watch.
  • TRIP is not headed this way after all.
And of course, our own meetup group is going to be very special this month as we knock through a ceiling :p to see what's in that false wall. I can hardly wait!!!!
  • TRIP is headed this way.
This weekend belongs to TRIP, a group out of Austin Texas. They've had a few last minute cancellations from within their group. So here is an opportunity for a few lucky people....... If you have a group so small that reserving the house for a small h…
